I’m Laird Kay and machines move me. 

Planes, trains, automobiles, production lines… they’re all objects of beauty and my photography is a celebration of what makes them so: graphic lines, sinuous curves, reflective surfaces, acute  angles and soaring beauty. 

The way in which I photograph mechanical equipment, how it’s used - and the people who use it is a celebration of technology and design influenced by the heroic period of modern art. 

I’m honoured that my work has appeared in Monocle Magazine, on the cover of Winkreative’s 20th anniversary special edition ‘Knowing Wink’, Air Canada’s enRoute magazine, Travel & Leisure magazine, APEX Experience magazine, and BBC News among many others.
